Routes/Timings

The below Dubai Ferry routes/timings information is accurate to the best of our knowledge. If in any doubt, please contact the RTA on 800 9090 for clarification on any of the trips shown.

Routes are occasionally changed and we will endeavour to keep these up to date.

Ferry Terminals

The Dubai Ferry currently runs from six ferry terminals: Dubai Marina, Bluewater Marine Transport Station, Al Ghubaiba, Dubai Canal Station, Sharjah Aquarium and Souk al Marfa.

The first two stations to operate were at Al Ghubaiba and Dubai Marina, with a terminal at Al Mamzar introduced in October 2014 – However, Al Mamzar no longer runs services due to lack of demand. The service also used to run along Dubai Water Canal to Al Jadaf but this has changed to a Water Taxi service.

The ferry service between Dubai and Sharjah was suspended after the 2020 pandemic but has now resumed and you can find full details of that service here.

Ferry services run 7 days a week.

The Al Ghubaiba terminal is a minutes walk from the Al Ghubaiba Metro station, near the creek abra stations.

The Marina terminal is a short walk (about 500 yards to the left) from outside the Marina Mall.

The Bluewater Marine Transport Station is on the island that holds the AIN Dubai ferris wheel, just off the marina.

Souk al Marfa is on Deira Islands.

There are circular tourist type trips that run for approximately 1 hour from each terminal and there are trips that run from one terminal to the other (which take around 1h 55m minutes for the trips between the Marina and Al Ghubaiba).

As there are sometimes changes to the schedule it is worth contacting the RTA in advance to check on sailing times.

Scheduled circular services (services that start and leave from the same station) will only run with at least 12 passengers. You can also privately hire the boats for your own trip at any available time between 9am and 9pm. Evening trips are busier so you may need to get to the terminal well in advance of the sailing (30 minutes or more).

Both circular routes run along the shore from the terminus with views of the coastline and the many local attractions, they run for one hour and then return from the place they started from. In this way they are really just excursions rather than a means to actually get anywhere within Dubai.

Dubai Marina

This is the tourist route covered by the Dubai Marina ferry which runs at 11.30am:

Dubai Marina Ferry Route
Dubai Marina Ferry Route

There is also a route running from Dubai Marina and out to the Burj al Arab for 60-90 minutes at 4.30pm. Trips may change – see table above for current trips available.

In addition you can travel at 1pm and 6pm from Dubai Marina to Al Ghubaiba. This stops at Dubai Canal Station and BlueWaters en route.

Al Ghubaiba

The route covered by the Al Ghubaiba ferry for the circular trip at 4.30pm is shown below. However, note that the route may be subject to change. There is a 3pm circular trip that previously ran within Dubai Creek – check with the RTA for the current route.

In addition there is a ferry running from Al Ghubaiba to Dubai Marina Ferry terminal at  1pm and 6pm. This stops at Dubai Canal Station and BlueWaters en route.

Souk al Marfa

In March 2022 a new ferry route was launched to Souk al Marfa on Dubai Islands. It ran from 6pm to 10pm on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. However, this trip no longer runs and marine access to Souk al Marfa is now just by abra.

  1. Hi
Which route is the best for family inclued canal, burj al arab and Atlantis.
This all is possible in one trip? Plz help

    1. All 3 of those are separate trips although if you went from The Marina to the Canal and then changed there you could include those 2.

  2. I want to take a short round trip from Sheikh Zayed Rd station to canal. Can I take the 11:25 to canal station and back at 12:15. Is the parking near at Sheikh zayed road and is there an air condition resting place at the dubai canal station whilst waiting for ferry back?

    1. Yes you can take that trip (the return comes back at 12.05pm) but there is not anywhere air-conditioned to wait for the ferry at the canal station.

  3. Myself and Family needs to Travel from Al Gubaiba Station to Dubai Canal Station for a pleasure trip after 7.30 pm on Saturday 3rd of June, 2017. Is there any service during that time, please advise.

  4. I want to take a ferry ride tomorrow from Al Ghubaiba to dubai Marina water station at 6.30 pm…What time should i reach Al Ghubaiba station for that

    1. It depends on how busy it will be but you can arrive really and get your ticket from 6pm onwards.

    1. I would not recommend walking from the canal station. You should be able to get a taxi from there though if you ask the people at the office there to call you one.

  5. I wish to enquire about the ferry from Al Ghubaiab to Marina. I see that times are 11am, 1pm and 6.30pm. Do I need to pre book? Also how much does it cost? Thank you.

    1. No you can’t pre book. Check out the tickets page for prices and the FAQ page also has plenty of info.

      1. We are a Tourism company and wanted to use the Ferry for 01 hour sailing through Dubai Canal. Could you please help in getting the rate and availability. What is the maximum capacity per ferry?

        1. You can either hire a ferry or you can take a scheduled trip. Capacity (as shown on the FAQ page) is 100. Check the routes page for timings.

  6. HI…
Which one is the best for family with sight seeing including dubai canal sight seeing…

    1. It depends on what you want to see, Burj al arab or Atlantis or the canal. Choose the ferry that takes you to the sights you want to see.

  7. Is it possible to get the ferry from Dubai Marina to the Canal and then from the canal to Jadaf. If so what times do the ferries leave the Marina ?

    1. Yes, the ferries that go from the Marina to AL Ghubaiba stop at the Canal station – see above for timings.

  8. what about the frequency of tourist trip Dubai ferry?, yes I have noticed from web it’s start from 5:00pm but there in no further schedule & how much cost per adult?

    1. All trips are shown above. Round trips take about 1h 15mins. Ticket prices are shown on the tickets page!

  9. Is it possible to get a ferry from Al Jadaf along the canal and out to the Marina. This looks possible from the map, but would I have to get out at Dubai Canal station and change to a different boat?

    1. Yes you are right you need to take the ferry to the Dubai canal station and then change there. Each of the 3 trips from Al Jadaf arrives at Dubai Canal station 5 minutes before the marina ferry departs.

        1. I think occasionally the ferry is full (usually on public holidays) so it is worth getting there with time to spare.

  10. Hi! I would like to know if it is still possible to get to the waterfront at Al Seef marine transport station, since I know there’s a construction site over there. It seems there’s no point to take some photo of the opposite river bank.

    Thank You! 🙂

    1. Sorry I don’t have any information on Al Seef station – it is not a terminal for the ferry but is for the water taxi and water bus.
